Paper, Paper, Paper!The Process
Leaving behind the traditional brush and paint, I layer and jigsaw tiny pieces of color into the images that you see. With a range of beautiful colors and a variety of textured mixed media paper, I manipulate, cut, tear and glue to move color to create collaged paintings. Clippings... |
The Palette
My children's artwork provides a great inspiration to me as well as a source for lots of paper. Their best work (of course) is on display or safely tucked away but nothing gets thrown away: Recycle recycle recycle! There is always the need to enhance my color ranges and to provide additional textures, so paper making is a regular occurrence. From the vibrant opacity of acrylics and the transparent films of watercolor to the richness of Prismacolor pencils and Copic markers to woodblocks and other texture making and mono printing materials, I have an infinite palette at my disposal. |
